Apply today for a free custom active site design—submit your project details, and if approved, we’ll create a tailored solution built specifically for your substrate and research needs.
Synthesize-X is providing researchers, students, and startups with the opportunity to apply for a free, fully customized active site design. This service uses our proprietary computational pipeline to engineer an active site specifically tailored to your substrate and project requirements.
When you apply, you’ll provide information about your substrate, the environment in which the enzyme will function, and your desired performance characteristics (such as specificity, stability, or cofactor requirements). Our team will review your submission, and if approved, we will design a bespoke active site sequence that is computationally optimized to recognize and interact with your substrate under your stated conditions.
The deliverable you receive includes:
- A sequence recommendation for the residues comprising the active site.
- A design rationale, explaining key features of the site such as binding residues, charge distribution, and stability considerations.
This offer is intended to help projects at all scales, from academic research groups and student teams to independent innovators, gain access to high-quality computational enzyme design. While the design is provided free of charge, laboratory validation and experimental work remain the responsibility of the applicant.
By opening this program, we aim to lower barriers to innovation and demonstrate the power of custom-engineered biocatalysts—bringing the future of enzymology directly to your workbench.
Premade Active Sites Announcement
At Synthesize-X, our current focus is exclusively on Custom De-Novo Active Site design, giving researchers access to fully tailored catalytic centers built from the ground up. However, we’re also preparing to release a library of pre-made active sites—ready-to-use designs optimized for a range of common substrates and reaction types—scheduled for launch in late-September. Until then, our efforts remain dedicated to providing fully customized solutions to meet the unique needs of each client.
